The Voice has shared an early release Battle between Team Legend artists Kaylee Shimizu and Elizabeth Evans. The two singers took on a duet of “Traitor” by Olivia Rodrigo for a chance to stay on John Legend’s team.

Kaylee and Elizabeth brought power and emotion to their cover of “Traitor.” Both of them imbued the performance with their own unique styles. The coaches were clearly impressed by the Battle, as they gave the singers a standing ovation.
Kaylee Shimizu is one of eight four-chair turns on Team Legend heading into the Battles. The 17-year-old stunned with her Blind Audition to “Golden Slumbers” by the Beatles. All four coaches wanted her on their team, but she chose Legend.
For her Blind Audition, Elizabeth Evans performed a haunting cover of “All I Wanted” by Paramore, inspiring both Legend and Reba McEntire to turn their chairs. Elizabeth chose to join Team Legend.

What Did the Coaches Think of Their Battle?
McEntire praised Kaylee and Elizabeth’s “unbelievable vocal range and power.” She said they complemented each other through their harmonies. Ultimately, McEntire said she would choose Elizabeth as the winner.
“That was unbelievable. That’s the best version of that song I’ve heard, 100 percent,” Niall Horan told the artists. He added that Kaylee has “ridiculous talent” for her age, while he complimented Elizabeth’s “identity as an artist.” He said he was leaning toward Elizabeth as the winner.
Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani described Elizabeth as “very original and rare.” She didn’t say who she thought should win the Battle, explaining, “I don’t know how you choose. Both just so gifted.”
Legend said that both singers were “so interesting and cool” in their performance. However, we’ll have to wait until Monday’s new episode on NBC to find out who he chose as the winner of the Battle.
